Central Okanagan Services:

  • Kelowna Women’s Shelter provides free food, shelter, counselling, support and preventative education to women and their children who have experienced intimate partner violence.

  • The Child Advocacy Centre is a Kelowna based organization that provides services for children who experience abuse and neglect and those impacted by child abuse.

  • Each centre has an interdisciplinary healthcare team that provides a range of services in a single site – i.e. a checkup with your family doctor, a visit to a physiotherapist, pharmacist, or public health nurse. The selection of services offered in each Primary Health Care Centre reflects the unique needs of its community.

  • The Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society provides for the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual well-being of all peoples through the development of community-based services, while encouraging the community to preserve, share and promote Aboriginal cultural distinctiveness.

B.C. Provincial Services:

  • VictimLinkBC provides information and referral services to all victims of crime and immediate crisis support to victims of family and sexual violence, including victims of human trafficking exploited for labour or sexual services.

    VictimLinkBC is available toll-free by calling 1-800-563-0808.

  • Ending Violence Association of BC assists in providing victims with issue-based consultation and analysis, resource development, training, research and education.

  • The BC Society of Transition Houses offers emergency houses for women, children, and youth experiencing violence, with services accessible throughout BC.
    BC Housing has a full list of safe, supportive houses available 24/7 across BC.

  • Crisis Centre of BC is a non-profit, volunteer organization committed to helping people help themselves and others deal with crisis.

  • The Canadian The Association of Elizabeth Fry Societies (CAEFS) exists to ensure substantive equality in the delivery and development of services and programs through public education, research, legislative and administrative reform, regionally, nationally and internationally.

  • The Canadian Women’s Foundation is a national leader in the movement for gender equality in Canada. Through funding, research, advocacy, and knowledge sharing, they work to achieve systemic change.
